This kitchen remodel of an original adobe home in the rolling hills of Carmel Valley was a dream to work on.

Our design intent for this project was to bring the spirit of the adobe back into the kitchen space which had suffered a 1960's formica remodel. After consulting with our clients, we decided to remove everything and start from scratch.

We designed the new space by opening things up, exposing and accenting the beautiful original beams and adobe block walls, creating better spatial flow and re-aligning the space, colors and materiality back to the old world detail and feeling of the adobe era in a fresh and contemporary way. Everything in the space was renewed and refreshed and the most unique part of this project was being able to re-purpose the original antique redwood paneling from elsewhere in the house to make all new hand-made cabinets.
